I have membership to his website and read his books and take his advice, as well as seeing Patrick at a seminar this year in which I thanked him for "giving me back my life". I had also been avidly reading to the best of my ability both Julia Ross' book The Mood Cure and Patricks Optimum Nutrition bible, which are brilliant, and I have been taking 5-HTP for about/up to a year now and my life has completely changed. It is so nice to wake up with the same moods every day rather than being gripped with the black ones and those moods that we don't know where they come from, but there they are! I'm enjoying my real personality now, as are my friends, it's great. I had been taking GABA now and then (Gamma amino buytric acid - 500mg) alongside adjusting my eating habits, noticing the effect sugar has on my moods as well as ready prepared foods, so I now have these occasionally but I am keeping an eye on reactions. My friend has noticed when my mood crashes and can remind me that I ate "so and so" (rubbish). So keeping sugar out of my diet as much as possible, taking basic vitamins, (mainly from companies such as Biocare, Solgar) multi with minerals, calcium/magnesium, omega 3 & 6 essentially fatty acids (cod liver oil and pumpkin, sunflower seeds), B complex (50mg of each mostly), Zinc, - in fact, following Patrick's guide as to what will do your head in and what won't!!!! I was then and am still grateful for the supportive emails you sent me at that time and I wish everyone out there their own victories, as Julia Ross says in the introduction to her book "The Mood Cure" - to all those who sought help, and didn't get it.
