RECOVERY FROM DEPRESSION

A Multitude of Recoveries Through Alternative Mental Health Treatments

I originally contacted your org. because I was curious if a lead pellet that has been in my facial bone by the left sinus for many years could be the cause, or at least contributing to my chronic, and treatment resistant depression. After taking nearly every medication and combination of medications in the book I have never had any significant relief from depression, nor for any considerable length of time. I inquired of several physicians if the lead could be decomposing and such in my body and causing the depression. I considered having it removed several times over 30 years. But I was disuaded from doing so by the so called experts. They have said that war veterans have inoperable bullet woulds that still retain the lead and they are apparently suffering no ill effects. I began to reason myself that these doctors do not actually know if these people have mood changes and such from the lead, or to what level if any. Some may be subtle. Some may be misdiagnosed, etcetera. I also realized that these doctors were really not all that informed on such things and that they are, or may be blinded by conventional medical education, or whatever it may be. I also realized that they probably just do not care as much as I expected them to. After all, my proposal is not all that common, and what do they have to lose. It is not affecting them. Mostly it is just a job for them. They get paid whether or not I get cured. Well, I began researching metal toxicity, especially lead. I found that many of the symptoms I have experienced werer similar or the same. I began my own therapy with potassium iodide for several weeks at first. I began adding other agents that are known to help rid the body of toxins such as lead. These were calcium and some amino acids to name a couple. I began to notice a change for the better in my mood and energy level. I contacted a very good oral surgeon who removed that lead pellet in one piece without cutting into it. I have been much better than I can ever remember since starting the new treatments I have described to you, and after having that lead removed from my body. There are many lessons to be learned from this experience. One of which is that medical doctors are not those to be revered for their knowledge based on a degree alone. Another is that people should learn to think in different ways, that is independently, or out of the box as the saying goes. Not everyone with depression has to be treated the exact same way. As another saying goes, "listen to the patient, he is trying to tell you the diagnosis." I thank God I was able to do for myself, finally, what no one has been able to do for me for over 20 years since I began to seek help for depression relief. I spent alot of energy, money and other resources to help overcome my depression. I finally had to solve it and fix it for myself. Go figure...
