A Multitude of Recoveries Through Alternative Mental Health Treatments

I ended the mania and depression of bipolar disorder in 2002 and remained stable today. I learned how to do this while halting breast cysts and tumor growth. In 1995 cysts and tumors began growing so rapidly I had surgery twice in 12 months. Terrified, I searched for the cause. I learned certain foods promote inflammation and stimulate tumor growth: dairy products, red meats, refined sugars and flours, margarine, hydrogenated oils, processed foods, alcohol, and sometimes wheat, a common undiagnosed allergen. Completely changing my diet overnight, I began eating fish; organic poultry; three fruits and four to five vegetables daily; beans and legumes; nuts, seeds and whole grains (except wheat); olive oil; herbal teas and filtered water; plus high potency multi-vitamin and mineral capsules. My energy skyrocketed. After six weeks all arthritis pains disappeared. In six months, I lost 20 pounds. After two years, however, another breast tumor appeared. Because of my research, I suspected an antidepressant taken for bipolar disorder as a possible trigger and stopped taking it. Within six weeks the latest tumor disappeared. Refusing all other psychiatric drugs, I consulted Pfeiffer Treatment Center ( www.hriptc.org ), a clinic who uses vitamins and minerals to treat mental disorders. I had low zinc and vitamin B6 levels due to a genetic condition, plus I had elevated histamine and copper levels. After taking Pfeiffer supplements for two months, my mania disappeared. Yet varying levels of depression persisted. In The Omega 3 Connection, Harvard's Dr. Andrew Stoll reported successful results of fish oils in 1999 clinical trials with bipolar patients. I began taking three grams of fish oils daily, purchased from an 800 number at his web site, www.omebabrite.com. Within 48 hours of starting to take 6 capsules daily, my depression lifted and hasn't returned. By treating the causes of illness, instead of taking drugs that merely suppress symptoms and have health-damaging side effects, I have ended bipolar mood swings, eliminated arthritis, dropped to a healthy weight, and halted breast cyst and tumor growth. To assist other patients, I have written two books (available on this site) and lecture frequently (see my web site below for schedule).
